Amy Bordelon

As a resident of the New Orleans area and survivor of Hurricane Katrina, Amy has been helping Katrina Victims despite continued devastation in the area. In fact, we noticed her ability to help Katrina Victims and immediately chose  her for our Chief Coordinator of Relief Operations in New Orleans, LA.

Amy Bordelon was born and raised in the Metairie area of New Orleans, LA.  She is the Director of Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, and Durable Medical Equipment for Egan Home Healthcare in New Orleans , Louisiana .  As a graduate of Dension University in Granville , Ohio , she received a MS in Physical Therapy at The Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen , Scotland .  Her residence in Metairie , LA was 6 blocks from the 17th street canal levee breach that flooded her city and home.  She is currently sharing a residence with friends and family in Metairie where they will continue to work and rebuild their city.

This couple is truly amazing. How many of us would consider helping prison inmates by continually writing letters to them for years? about 1100 of them.  I know I would never consider this a form of helping. There dedication in helping inmates through their written correspondence is truly amazing. Their dedication toward helping a specific group of Americans that most of us ignore and would never consider helping is something for any American to admire and possibly model.

Principal Thomas-EL is an outstanding Philadelphian Public School Educator. He always has high expectations for his students since he knows they are capable of attaining their dreams. As an educator he profusely and tediously assists his students in anyway possible to fulfill their dreams. He believes that students need to not be only educated by the school itself but by its surrounding community before, during, and after school. He has helped many inner city school students to obtain their capabilities in achieving their dreams.

Scott and Sandra Lyons are founders of a Christian Outreach Center in Roanoke, Virginia. Almost every weekend, for the past 5 years, they volunteer in the wee hours of the morning helping the homeless, beggars, drunks, prostitutes, criminals, and other Americans find a more conducive way of living through a Christian life. Sandra Lyons is the founder's sister and is in contention of being our first satellite organization.
